my "mother anniversary memorial"

holy hotness. rodney out did himself this time. i loooove to bitch about my husband. it's a hobby of mine. but when he puts his mine to being thoughtful, he can do a hellova job. we agreed on a mid month celebration for all May "holidays". so this was our first official "mother anniversary memorial". first rodney arranged for a sitter w/o any assistance from me. point 1. then we went to a little bar near fairpark and had a couple of post dinner drinks". it was uber cool in there. the ultra swanky kindov trendyness that usually intimidates me. but not this night cuz i had on my orange heels. (thanks maria). point 2. then it was off to the main event of the evening. it was my very first Dallas Summer Musical. i've lived in dallas 21 years and have never attended one. it was impressive. we saw the ring of fire. the johnny cash story. rodney knows that i've acquired this thing for johnny cash and thought this would be something i would enjoy. he was right! point 3. thennnnn. . . . we went downtown. as much as i love the musical, i think i LOVED going downtown even more. points 4 and 5. i love it down there. i miss it so much. after working downtown for over 7 years, i had grown attached to it. bums and all. but it's been 8 months since i'd been down there so it was so much fun to see the downtown lights at night. we went a restaurant off of main street which is turning into the new deep elum quickly. we had some margaritas, chips and salsa, and tamales. finally, we headed home. picked up the kids and all hit the hay. . . . but not before the points were redeemed. happy "mother anniversary memorial day"!!
