big easter weekend

first i told rodney of my plans to quit my job and become a fulltime writer. he appologized sincerly and told me i'd have to put off my big plans for another 20-30 years. i understood. on the upside he said he'd put me a desk in the garage and i can have at it on the weekends. in between soccer games, church, sunday school, cleaning, laundry, family functions, and other outings. . . of course. of course.

my side of the family did our easter on saturday because the weather was supposed to be more agreeable that day than on sunday and it was. it was nice. plus a majority of the unwed dads w/ kids were going to have their kid(s) on saturday not sunday. (complicated) we headed to the park and had a good-ol' picnic and egg hunt. it wasn't until later that night that i realized that i had one neice missing who should have been there. her excuse. . . she's 15 and too cool to hang out with us.

sunday, was rodney's side of the family easter at aunt lupe's. the food was supurb! my favorites from my mother in law include pea salad and homemade macaroni and cheese.

finally, easter didn't just bring celebration of the Lord's coming; it also brought tobias' walking! he's now officially a part-time walker. he'll do it if the mood stricks him right but if he is the least bit unsatified it's straight to the floor on all fours. he needs practice still. but that's ok. we've got time.

by matilda crear (soon to come)

i was enjoying my good friend fabiola's blog when i stumbled upon another blog she frequents called a bourgeois existence. http://a-bourgeois-existence.blogspot.com/. i was in ahh of this women. she's 24. 24 and a writer! she's a writer of naughty adult fantasies but a writer non-the-less. how is this? how is that i am am 29 and still not a writer? i know how. i just like to ask the question out loud hoping to find a different answer. like the time that i first learned that trying the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity, i realized i am insane. i am not a writer because i just haven't done it. the first time i entered a UIL writing event and totally bombed, i became discouraged and have only given halfassed efforts ever since. another time i wrote down the beginnings of something i am interested in writing about. my boyfriend, now husband, found it hidden in the couch cushions. he was uber mad because it was mostly about his problems. he made me sware never to show that to anyone and to stop writing my things down for people to find. i promised at the time but all i really wanted to know was, "was it good?", i mean "was it something that kept you entertained and intrigued?" only it was a tad inappropriate to ask while he was shaking it at me and yelling unpleasantries. several years later he granted me permission to write his story and even agreed to be my c0-writer. only. . . i've done nothing except read other authors work on the subject. i call that "research". so now little miss Bourgeois Existence your my inspiration to write. hopefully i'll follow through this time . . . or at least one of these times in the near future.

party with lemons? yes...with lemons

victor and pat throw a hellova party. we had fun. it was adult birthday-partyish (games included). we played an icebreaker to get to know the other guests. then a balance-the-lemon-on-your-forhead-with-your-spouse game, then a raffle. rodney and i won the grand price. it was a gift card to sigels. ironic?

***tobias is 9 months old now ***

tobias at his 9 month doctor appointment. we finally switched him over to thomas' doctor!
almost a heart. tobias was facinated by himself in the mirror. he couldn't get enough of himeself.

my baby wants to walk sooooo bad. he tries and tries, but good thing his butt is always padded.

valentines 2008

.....................................this year for valentines rodney and i agreed on some guidelines. the rules were a $10 gift and a card. later i had to add some fine print to the card rule. there had to be something hand-written in addition to the pre-typed text from Hallmark. (minor technicality that could have been catostrophic.) come valentines day though rodney pulled through with more than i had ever expected. first, since i also kind of suck at showing love, i was running to the card store on my lunch break on thursday. when i got into my car to go, there in the passenger's seat, was my card from rod along with a beautiful box of candy. i got all teary. then i continued to cry when i read the card, which was perfectly selected. sobbed some more when i read what rodney had writen. (also perfectly selected). i couldn't have been happier with my valentine. but then when i got home from work . . . . . the house was clean, the table was set with candles and flowers and dinner was cooking. suddenly, i realized that my valentine to him now kindov sucked. i got him a monster candied apple and the man version of the exact same card he had gotten me. at the card store with the other 50 last-minute loosers, the idea of the same card seemed funny, even a little cute. i had really liked his card. but once it was time to giiiive my gift. . . . it was too late to run out to wal-greens to re-think this.

Josiah Leming Performs Grace Kelly American Idol

if your a "normal" person, you're like "who is josiah leming?" but if you watch american idol devotely like me then you know that he was on american idol and just got the boot on tonight's episode. i wanted to hate him so bad becuase he is a GIANT cryin' whin' boobie sucker. but he grow on me and he became my fav. so. . . to see him get rejected from the top 24 was terribly disappointing. however, i just did a yahoo! search on this boy to see what's out there. and just like alwasys, the internet never disappoints me. there are TONS of stuff on him and tons of other fans out there. i am happy to say, i am not the only freak. but i am still hoping that i am not the only full-grown woman fan. the rest may very well be 13-year old girls.
